We have a vacancy in our Environmental Strategy and Policy Team for a person with a keen interest in resource management and environmental issues, and/or experience in preparing District Plans under the Resource Management Act. You would be part of a team that provides environmental strategy and policy advice to the Council, with a focus on the District Plan and other key strategy documents such as the Coastal Strategy and the Framework for Growth.
We have an operative District Plan which is under a rolling review, which means there are a number of projects that will provide sufficient challenge and opportunity to an enthusiastic planner.
We require a person who:
- Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Is innovative and creative thinking.
- Is community minded.
- Is able to build positive relationships.
- Has tertiary qualifications in planning or related field.
- Has an understanding of legislation and local government objectives.
- Is professionally presented and able to present to meetings.
- Has the ability to plan, develop and implement policies.
- Has the ‘can do will do’ attitude.
