- Key member of IT Management Team- Report to CIO- Contribute Strategically and TacticallyThis is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the technology programme of work for one of our countrys best known household names.Reporting in to the CIO, the incumbent of this role will hold ultimate responsibility for identifying, and at a macro level, managing key IT projects across the business. This will include planning (resources, conflicts, and risks) and managing projects and programmes of work, whilst supporting the CIO to implement the strategic IT plan for the business.Operating at both a strategic and tactical level, you will be able to work with stakeholders and customers to understand current and future business needs and convert these into practical technology deliverables. There will be considerable complexities in terms of projects managed, business relationships, financial responsibilities and staff leadership. The incumbent of this role will manage complex internal, vendor and client relationships, while ensuring large, complex projects are completed on time and to budget. You will also be managing a team of technical specialists and project managers, with responsibility for their ongoing performance and development. Ideally suited to a senior IT project management professional with experience managing a breadth of technology projects across Systems, Applications and Infrastructure. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following:- A tertiary qualification in IT or Business- Certification in Project Management- Solid commercial experience in the management and delivery of multiple ICT projects to a complex business- An ability to build and lead a highly successful team of motivated IT professionals- Proven expertise in structured programme/project management techniques and tools- Budgetary management expertise- Sound commercial acumen, incorporating experience in partner, vendor and client management – Excellent relationship management skills and a strong customer focus- Practical experience in project methodologies, systems analysis, gathering business and user requirements, quality improvement and business process re-engineering.- Familiarity with Development and Systems projects- Prior experience in industries such as logistics, retail/wholesale, freight/transportation, or any involving hand-held devices would be advantageous, although is not essentialIn return, our client offers an outstanding opportunity to take the reins of an already successful project team and make it your own.
