UniServices, through The University of Auckland, works with governments and organisations across the globe, to produce world-class tailored education offerings through our EducationbyDesign programmes. Our client, an all-female University in Saudi Arabia, is establishing a new English Language preparatory one year programme, which prepares newly admitted students for their future undergraduate studies.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a dynamic senior academic team involved in the implementation of a new programme. The following roles are Fixed Term Contracts for 3 years.

Academic Director

In this senior role you will provide overall leadership, vision, strategy and accountability for the preparatory year English Language programme at the University. You will be a seasoned education professional who is a strong leader with sound strategic capabilities.

Assistant Academic Director

As well as supporting the Academic Director, you will provide educational leadership and oversight of the development programmes, ensuring those offered are of the highest standard possible.

Programme Leaders (5)

As part of the Senior Academic Team and together with the Lead Teachers you will provide educational support including curriculum development and management of both teachers and English Language programmes. In addition to core responsibilities, each Programme Leader will have specific accountabilities for one of the following areas:

  • Placement testing including quality assurance of the range of tests; programme assessments including summative and formative; quality assurance of all assessments (2 roles)
  • Teacher training and professional development; quality assurance of teacher delivery
  • Curriculum development; quality assurance of curriculum delivery
  • Student counselling and mentoring; dealing with student expectations and complaints

It is anticipated that the successful applicants will ideally be available to relocate to the Middle East around October 2011.Please note only female applicants will be considered due to the campus policies of this Saudi Arabian University.

Ideal candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, an internationally recognised TESOL qualification such as CELTA or similar, be passionate about education, and have an interest in the Middle East.
