Principal Financial Advisor Job at Auckland Council, Auckland, Auckland Central
As Principal Financial Advisor, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of professional Financial Analysts that produce high quality financial information, which feeds into Auckland Council’s annual, long-term and local board plans.
You will undertake complex analysis and provide expert advice to senior management and elected representatives on financial planning issues, including movements in operating expenditure and revenue to assist in budget and decision-making.You will develop processes and systems to support financial planning and improve the efficiency and effectiveness within Council and it’s Controlled Organisations (CCO’s).
We are looking for a highly experienced professional with:
- A minimum of five years experience providing advice on financial planning and other complex financial issues within a large organisation, public sector experience would be preferred
- Experience in working with a large enterprise resource planning financial management information systems (Hyperion, SAP or similar)
- Sound conceptual, analytical and research skills including experience in developing pragmatic solutions to complex building or policy problems
- Ability to communicate complex processes to staff across the organization
- Effective conflict resolution skills
- Excellent relationship and influencing skills at a senior level
