The Environmental Services Unit provides programme, project and technical advisory services. It has a broad portfolio including land, water and coastal management, biosecurity, the harbourmaster and environmental programmes.We work with landowners, residents, community groups, schools, businesses and industry, and provide input into policy development and resource consenting.

As far as Project Management roles go this role provides you with the opportunity to work on internally focused projects in a dynamic and changing environment.Projects will include regionalisation of programmes and services, managing analysis and options development for the Unit’s contribution to the Auckland Plan and new regional strategies, and reviewing current operating processes and systems.

The key purpose of this position is to support the Manager of Environmental Services to develop a new regional framework for the Unit’s programmes and services.

Significant project management experience and a relevant tertiary qualification are essential for the role along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You will be confident in compiling comprehensive reports for presentation and have the ability to captivate the audience and gain buy in from a wide range of stakeholders.

Ideally, you will have worked within local government in an environmental department and have a good understanding of local government practices and constraints.
