Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited owns and operates the Globe Progress and Macraes Gold Mines on the South Island of New Zealand. Oceana Gold is New Zealand’s largest gold producer and has established a reputation for operational innovation and environmental responsibility.
Due to a recent expansion in our mining fleet we currently have several opportunities available for suitably qualified Diesel Fitters. These positions are responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing the Oceana Gold mobile equipment as scheduled in the maintenance plan.
Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
- Diagnosing and repairing breakdowns on the mining fleet Ensuring that all necessary pre-start, and repairs documentation is completed in a timely manner
- Maintaining open lines of effective communication with the shift supervisors to ensure work is carried out with the least disruption to operations
- Proactively seek to improve trade skills and knowledge through training and development opportunities.
The successful applicant will possess a relevant heavy diesel trade qualification along with previous heavy industrial experience. Excellent communication skills are crucial to your success in this role along with a strong commitment to continuous improvements in fleet maintenance.
