The Civil Aviation Authority is the safety regulatory authority for New Zealand.
The Aircraft Certification Unit, within the Airlines Group, performs a variety of regulatory functions including; aircraft type acceptance, type certification, design approvals, issuing airworthiness directives and the inspection of aircraft for airworthiness certificate issue. The Unit is actively involved with new technology projects relating to aircraft upgrades, the development of new aircraft and components and the introduction of new aircraft types into New Zealand. The Unit also has considerable involvement with maintaining international relationships with overseas regulatory agencies.
We are looking for an experienced Airworthiness Engineer to exercise regulatory functions over the entry and exit control for products and organisations in the aviation industry through the issue and amendment of aviation documents and approvals. You will also investigate and approve design changes, and will provide specialist aeronautical engineering advice. For this position you should have a Bachelor of Engineering, have worked as an avionics design engineer in the aviation industry and have a good knowledge of airworthiness design standards.
To be successful in this role you will be expected to build professional and technical credibility within the CAA and the industry and constructively influence industry activities.
