Pioneer Generation Ltd own, operate and maintain hydroelectric and wind power generating stations throughout Otago and Southland. As an electricity wholesaler the company supplies power through local networks and the national grid using 100 % renewable generation methods. The company has an ongoing growth strategy to increase its generation capacity through upgrading existing plant and investing in new opportunities. The company is 100% owned by the Central Lakes Trust a major funder of community projects in the area. The company is based in Alexandra.
Pioneer Generation has historic links to hydro generation from the early 1900s and is committed to continuing the pioneering and innovation spirit in its future quest for new forms of sustainable electricity generation.
As a consequence of growth, the company wishes to appoint an electrical engineer to join a team environment and contribute to the sustainable management and operation of the business and expansion of the companys generation capacity. The position is based in Alexandra.
If you would like to join our positive get things done company you are likely to possess the following attributes:
Broad electrical engineering background
Broad project and contract management experience
Knowledge in the application of the Resource Management Act
Knowledge of the various electricity acts, regulations and codes
Experience in feasibility studies and asset management
Experience with the design of power station control and protection systems would be advantageous
An interpersonal style that engages stakeholders and other engineering disciplines in a team environment
Formal qualifications in engineering
