The Community Operations Business Unit is responsible for providing community development and engagement advice and administering $180m of community funding. There are 18 offices from Kaitaia to Invercargill with over 130 staff. The Business Unit is undergoing a period of significant change with the objective of improving services to our clients. This includes a review of the management structure and is the reason for the 6 month term of this position.
The Manager Funding and Operations Policy, is a key leadership role within Community Operations, reporting to the General Manager and leading a team of 5 managers and approximately 35 staff based in our National Office.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing best practice operational policy and procedures
- The successful completion of key strategic projects
- The management of Trusts, Lottery and Crown funding schemes
- Overseeing strategic business planning processes and ensuring processes are in place to monitor performance against objectives
- Ensuring that managers meet their output requirements and deliver quality client focused services to stakeholders
- Ensuring the provision of high quality advice and administration services for a significant number of funding panels, Trusts, advisory groups and the Lottery Grants Board
- Providing advice to Government Ministers
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Significant experience in developing operational policy
- Operational management experience and proven leadership skills
- An understanding of and experience with the machinery of government
- The ability to deliver on goals, objectives and outcomes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
