NZ Army Intelligence Operator Job at New Zealand Defence Force, Auckland
Can you be highly analytical under extremely stressful situations? In this sought after role, your job will be to record, collate and process information from a variety of sources, following the Intelligence Cycle: Direction, Collection, Processing and Dissemination.
From early on in your career you will be briefing military commanders and what you say will influence their decisions. Youll have the chance to develop new skills and meet new challenges as your career progresses.
All information gathered by the Army, whether it be by Special Forces or Infantry patrols, chance sightings by a signals detachment or a technical report from an Engineer patrol, is useless until you have analysed and interpreted the significant intelligence it contains.
Supporting the core disciplines of Combat Intelligence and Security are three specialist areas that employ specific skills and equipment. These are Human Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Imagery Intelligence.
To be considered you will need to undergo the three-day Intelligence Operator Selection board. If you are selected, you will be offered a place in the NZ Army as a trainee Intelligence Operator, starting with the All-Arms Recruit Course (basic solider training), prior to being posted to your unit to being your exciting career as an Intelligence Operator.
You will need:
To be a minimum age of 18.
Have completed Year 12 at school.
Have a proven ability in English and Mathematics at NCEA Level 2 (10 credits per subject or equivalent).
You mustve been a New Zealand citizen and have lived in New Zealand for at least five years.
Be able to obtain and keep a high level of national security clearance.
If you are offered a position in the New Zealand Army, you will be posted to one of our NZDF locations around the country with the most likely postings being in Linton, Burnham or Trentham.
