Claims Officer
As an integral part of the response to the Earthquake, you will be directly involved in dealing with affected customers. The majority of customers you assist will be homeowners who have suffered significant damage and loss during the recent earthquakes. You will be handling the process of claims as they grow from start to finish, building relationships based on trust and integrity with customers by responding to inquiries and assisting in the handling of claims. You will work within a dedicated team, consisting of a Claims Specialist and an Administration Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring Customers are kept up to date with the progress of their claims throughout the process.
  • Responding to customer inquiries.
  • Assisting in the handling of claims.
  • Assisting Claims Specialists with information relating to the status of the customers claim.
  • Liaising with the proper contacts to obtain the necessary information to ensure the claims are completed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Regular tracking of all claims, including updating of claim estimates.
This role would suit those from an Insurance background that are experienced in dealing with customer claims from initiation through to finalisation. However, it would also suit those from a different background that are interested in developing a career in Insurance or helping with the rebuild of Christchurch and can demonstrate sound relationship skills, a team player attitude and the proven ability to work with and understand policies. Specifically those from a banking/financial, legal, accounting or case management background could be highly suited. Your previous experience in doing all you can to meet customer needs is therefore of utmost importance. You will be a strong and articulate communicator, an excellent listener and be able to quickly pick up new processes and systems. You must have demonstrated strong administration skills mixed with great time management and a proven ability to problem solve.
Full Training in policies and systems will be provided as required.
