NATIONAL SEXUAL VIOLENCE PRIMARY PREVENTION CO-ORDINATOR – TAUIWI CAUCUS
Co-ordinating the ongoing development and delivery of sexual violence primary prevention education activities is the purpose of this exciting new position of TOAH-NNEST Tauiwi Caucus.
TOAH-NNEST, Te Ohaakii a Hine-National Network Ending Sexual Violence Together, is a nation-wide network committed to ending sexual violence in our communities. It consists of two ‘whare‘, Nga Kaitiaki Mauri (tikanga Maori) and Tauiwi Caucus, reflecting the relationship envisioned in Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
The National Sexual Violence Primary Prevention Co-ordinator – Tauiwi Caucus will collaborate and co-ordinate with the equivalent position holder of Nga Kaitiaki Mauri, to support the development of primary prevention as a whole in Aotearoa/ New Zealand.
The applicant will need to be knowledgeable about (a) primary prevention of sexual violence and (b) the Tauiwi specialist sexual violence intervention sector in this country. Self-motivation is required, along with strong skills in communication, report writing, project management, strategic planning, and collaboration with a wide range of people and organisations. Understanding of working within a Te Tiriti o Waitangi-based framework, and experience of working effectively with Tangata Whenua, are essential.
This is a fixed-term contract position for 12 months, for 30 hours per week. The position is located in Wellington (negotiable) and will require some travel.
