The International Development Group (IDG) has recently completed a business model refresh and restructure. The Development Strategy and Effectiveness Division (DSE) is responsible for the development of a coherent policy and planning framework, reporting across the organisation, government and internationally, and ensuring practice and process across the group meets best practice for delivering effective development assistance.

We are looking for an important addition to our dynamic team who will bring have a contemporary understanding of international development issues and aid practices. You will have a depth of knowledge with development issues and activities, with proven experience in managing donor and developing country relationships.

As the Development Manager Aid Effectiveness you will be responsible for leading and supporting aid effectiveness and capability building both across the organisation and regionally with an aim to improve development practice across the International Development Group (IDG). You will be responsible for implementing an aid effectiveness action plan and advocacy around changes in practice. You will provide processes and systems/guidelines for new modalities. This will include international policy engagement and international reporting on aid effectiveness.

To be successful in this role you will need current knowledge of aid effectiveness, international development experience in aid delivery and a combination of excellent policy development and strategic planning skills, along with outstanding analytical skills and the ability to communicate well. You will have policy development experience programme/activity design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation skills.

A tertiary qualification is required; postgraduate in a relevant field is desirable.
