One of the most high profile companies operating in New Zealand, this organisation has a plethora of mission critical systems which are the lifeblood of its business. Systems complexity and significant investment in technology are constants in this environment and support the companys focus on innovation and growth within a highly competitive market. We seek a talented senior executive who will assume accountability for the organisations development activities, reporting to the Chief Information Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of the companys development strategy and plans to ensure appropriate applications are delivered which meet the current and future needs of the organisation.
  • The delivery of all systems and software development to the company, along with the associated test environments, hardware, software and databases, development methodologies and release management processes.
  • Management of key internal stakeholders and vendor relationships.
  • Financial oversight of a large cost centre supporting one of the most significant Application development programs in New Zealand.
  • Contributing as a central member of the companys IT leadership team
The Person:
  • Experience as a Head of Development or CIO/GM IT leading software/systems development within a complex and most likely mission-critical development environment.
  • Well developed people management and change management skills to effectively drive the performance of a large number of development personnel, both staff and outsourced.
  • First class stakeholder management and influencing skills to effectively orchestrate the activities of vendors and manage the multitude of interested internal parties impacted by the companys development activities.
  • Commercial and financial skills to oversee and obtain maximum benefit from a very large development budget
  • Ultimately, a track record of delivering results and driving change within a highly complex environment, both from a technology and internal/external stakeholder management perspective.
