As a senior manager in the Corporate Management Group, the Head of Procurement will lead the transformation of the Ministry‘s procurement processes and practices through the establishment of a centre-led strategic procurement management function. They will develop and deliver leading edge procurement strategies, processes and systems that maximise business leverage and value for the Ministry, and build and manage a team of procurement professionals providing advice and support across all areas of Ministry‘s procurement activities.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience of strategic procurement in a medium to large organisation, ideally with some experience in the government / public sector. They will also have experience in managing and leading a team of procurement professionals; a collaborative approach; outstanding communication skills; and the proven ability and credibility to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.Applications close 5pm Wednesday 20 July 2011.
