0.5 Fixed Term position in the National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences
We are seeking a Research Assistant to work on the HRC-funded ARCOS IV Programme in Middlemore Hospital, Counties Manukau DHB.
This study aims to conduct high quality research on people with stroke and transient ischaemic attacks (TIA) to improve their health and rehabilitation outcomes. This position is fixed-term until February 2012 and hours of work are negotiable.
The primary duties will include retrieving information for all new cases of stroke and TIA occurring in residents of the Greater Auckland Region over an 8-month period (July 2011 to February 2012), and completing baseline assessments at Middlemore Hospital. The work will also involve recruiting eligible stroke survivors for a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of motivational interviewing for secondary stroke prevention. Applicants should preferably have a health professional qualification/background.
