    Reporting to the Board through the President, the Chief Executive leads a team of national and regional professionals and is responsible for the overall implementation of the organisations strategy, purpose and vision.

    The appointee will have accountability for business planning, organisational management, human resources, budgeting/financial control, providing national consistency and local responsiveness, communications, marketing, disability support care/protection service and its implementation. It is of paramount importance that the Chief Executive plays a pivotal role in capitalising on national disability initiatives whilst maintaining close working relationships with Government and its Agencies.

  • A successful track record of leadership at a senior level
  • Change management/organisation development experience
  • Strategic, highly analytical and conceptual thinking abilities
  • Very highly developed communication, negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Self motivated/goal seeking with the ability to drive a number of concurrent projects
  • Very strong stakeholder relationship management
  • Well developed business acumen and financial stewardship
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective networks
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the Not for Profit/Voluntary and Community sectors
  • The capability to present well researched quality and timely reports/initiatives to the Board.
