The New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development needs a credible Senior Research Analyst who has the determination and passion to be at the forefront of optimising tourism‘s contribution to the government’s economic growth agenda. We advise the government on ways to ensure the $23 billion tourism sector plays as full a role as possible in growing a highly productive New Zealand economy. We produce Tier 1 statistics that contribute to the National Accounts, and undertake original analysis and research that informs policy directions.

In this crucially important role you will have responsibility for the overall tourism data set including overseeing data design, collection and processing; and performing analysis that underpins government’s understanding of the tourism sector. To be successful in this role you will have strong quantitative research skills as well as an ability to coach others and build effective relationships with stakeholders. Knowledge of the tourism sector would be advantageous but could be developed in the role.
