Original Foods NZ Ltd is a leading manufacturer and distributor of bakery goods to companies in NZ and internationally. Since 1991, Original Foods has built a reputation for baking delicious cakes, muffins, slices, donuts and cheesecakes, sold through caterers, retailers, cafes, restaurants and tourism businesses.
We are seeking a recently graduated Food Technologist to undertake a joint Quality Assurance and Product Development role at our Christchurch manufacturing plant.
This is a hands-on role in which the successful candidate is an integral part of the plant technical management team.The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Monitoring compliance of the plants Food Safety plan, thereby ensuring it is adequately maintained and implemented.
- Conducting Quality Assurance operations, ensuring the high quality standard for which the company and its products are renowned is adhered to.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of new products and product improvements.
- Staff training ensuring standards of manufacture and plant hygiene are adhered to within the workplace.
To be successful, the candidate should possess a positive can-do attitude, be able to interact as well with plant personnel as with management, have good written and verbal communication skills and a strong desire to learn in order to further their career in food technology. Experience in baking would be beneficial, but a passion for baked goods is essential. Tertiary qualification in food technology/science is essential.
