Love travel and love helping people to go travelling – especially around New Zealand? Come and work with us as the manager of our team of Customer Service Consultants. You’ll be part of a wider Sales and Marketing team that works together to showcase YHA and the country. We do this via our website, marketing channels and importantly through our Customer Services team. The team manage both agent and direct guest bookings for accommodation, travel and tourism activities. This includes the management of complex itineraries for travelling groups.The Travel Services Manager is also responsible for the day to day management of relationships with national level agents and group travel partners. In this capacity, occasional domestic and international travel is part of the role.The role has responsibility for several key systems at YHA including the member database, travel management system (Tourplan) and also for managing travel products on the organisation’s website www.yha.co.nz.We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, who’s willing to learn and take responsibility for their and the team’s performance. Experience in the travel and tourism industries would be a benefit as would knowledge of travel agency software, databases and website content management systems. But most of all we want a person who has a positive outlook on the world and a sense of adventure and curiosity: someone who enjoys working with a team. You’ll need to be able to put yourself in our customers’ shoes and think of ways to provide industry leading service.
