Are you a versatile skilled individual with solid experience in all aspects of Production Planning?
Our client is a dynamic privately owned manufacturing business looking for a motivated self starter to head up our Production team.
This progressive firm seeks a level-headed, a qualified and experienced Production Planner who enjoys being challenged. This is a full time position, typically working 5 days per week but other times as required work times can be flexible to a degree.
As the Production Planner you will take ownership of the monthly Sales & Operations (S&OP) product plan by managing supply and demand within a structured time frame. Balancing the demand and supply figures you will manage transact ional data and plan changes to provide a high quality plan for execution to meet customer requirements. Invariably you will encounter times when things don’t go to plan.
Reporting to the General Manager Operations & Development, you will be a seasoned relationship builder. You will be interpersonally savvy and skilled at effectively adapting your style when engaging with different internal and external customers. With exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, you will be solutions focused and results driven. Your strong communication skills will equip you well to communicate and influence your diverse audiences. Technically savvy you will be advanced in Excel, and shall ideally be familiar with MRP coupled with a sound appreciation of the planning process.
The key accountabilities in this role include: optimising operational performance; managing labour resources to maximise business performance and exceeding customer expectations
To be successful in this role you will need:-
a minimum of 10 years experience in the manufacturing industry
Relevant tertiary or trade qualification
proven experiencing in managing staff
an ability to positively influence the people you work with
knowledge of cost and resource management
proven excellence in customer service delivery
a commitment to safety in the workplace
a highly developed organisational ability
exceptional communication skills
Good time management (able to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines)
As our Production Planner you not only will turn sales orders into a realistic production plans, you will be that critical linchpin between the sales, production and supply chain (external). The challenge will be to make the required information in our systems reliable while improving the system at the same time. Your reward will be watching the efficient processes and information flow you create have a direct impact on production numbers and the bottom line.
Experience in the implementation of mid range ERP and Manufacturing systems would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for:
Day to day liaison with the Procurement, Production and the Quality Team
Maintenance and updating of material usage and operational costs
Maintenance of the raw material invoicing systems
Internal communication within the internal supply chain
Ensuring on going compliance to company procedures
Working with operational staff in business improvement programs
