The role involves undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance activities by responding to system component issues within the server and communications infrastructure and those that occur in the field involving analysis and diagnosis of faults, and continuous monitoring of system performance.Key Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance as required to ensure that the contracted system performance and service level agreements are consistently maintained. Administration and maintenance of the system infrastructure during the defined operational hours and specified maintenance periods. Responding to system status alerts and to perform analysis and resolution of such alerts. Maintain a strong customer focus and take a proactive and positive approach to the resolution of issues. Provide system user interface training for depot operators, the client and other support staff.Skills Required: Network and system administration in a both Linux and Windows environments; Demonstrated experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, backup and restoration of software and related data in both a Linux and Microsoft environment as well as the operating systems themselves; Ability to generate and analyse performance reports to determine system performance issues; Exposure to scripting languages.
