CoreStaff recruits permanent employees for Xstrata’s Mt Isa operations in Qld
A position has been enhancedwithin Open Pits for a Superintendent to have the key accountabilities for allMine Planning, Geotechnical Planning & Void Management. You will have a background in Mine Engineering, althoughyour qualifications maybe from other disciplines.
Leading a multidisciplinary planning team and reporting to the General Manager Open Pit Mining, you will have responsibility for:
- proactively contributing to the Annual Identified Mineral Resource and Reserve process and the development necessary to sustain the production profile;
- ensuring all design and scheduling work is completed safely andcomplies withprocedures;
- risk assessments, planning, survey and data capturing functions;
- oversee thesupervision and training of less experienced engineers in all aspects of mine planning.
Operation and production capabilities are in expansion phase, whichprovides a challenging opportunity for the successful candidate.
Aworking knowledge of MineSight or a similar mine planning software system; & a track record of involvement in Mineral Reserve estimation are essential.
