The Physical Education Instructors role involves providing comprehensive sports and fitness programmes for staff and prisoners at Mount Eden Corrections Facility (MECF). We are therefore seeking a dynamic individual with significant skills, knowledge and experience in area of sports and fitness to deliver these programmes.

Mount Eden Corrections Facility (M.E.C.F.) based in Auckland is the most recent addition to the Serco portfolio in Asia Pacific. M.E.C.F. is a state of the art facility providing a safe and secure environment for over 900 prisoners on behalf of NZ Department of Corrections.
Reporting to the Rehabilitation Manager, this role involves the combination of providing an in-depth know-how of physical fitness programmes while ensuring that the health and safety requirements of all participants are met.
The following are considered desirable for the role:
A Physical Education degree and/or National Governing Body Award
Ideally, experience working with offenders especially Maori and Pacific Island groups
Your common sense approach, dedicated work ethic and responsible attitude will enable you to provide a professional and dynamic suite of physical fitness/well being programmes. You may be required to work evenings and weekends and Criminal Conviction clearance is required.
