McKechnie Aluminium invites applications for an exciting role within our Fabrication Division to champion product development, project management and continuous improvement. McKechnie Aluminium is a quality aluminium extruder with large fabrication and finishing facilities supplying the New Zealand and Australian markets. The Company is locally owned employing around 350 people.
Primary Purpose
Manage the Engineering Services within the Fabrication Division (Product design and development, toolmaking, maintenance, capital projects, process improvement)
Project management and liaison with customers over application solutions for design/development of products.
Interpret customer needs, undertake project and prototype costing, sourcing of purchased components and assist with quotations.
Introduce new products into production
Experience
BE Mech Engineering qualification or equivalent with proven experience and demonstrated competence within a manufacturing environment.
Competency with CAD packages (e.g. SolidWorks)
Tool making/trades experience and general engineering work practices that meet recognised codes of practice and workplace safety procedures.
Industrial/Product design an advantage.
Experience in aluminium products an advantage
