If you are a New Zealand citizen and are seeking a role within a unique organisation where the work really makes a difference, then this position in the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service could be for you.Vetting Officers are responsible for conducting background investigations and report upon the suitability of nominated Government employees required to have security clearances. The role involves conducting interviews, assessing the information obtained and making a recommendation regarding a persons suitability for a security clearance.To be successful in this role you will need:
- proven Interviewing skills both face to face and via telephone
- well developed communication and inter-personal skills
- well developed life skills and maturity
- to be well-informed and open-minded about differing lifestyles, backgrounds and cultures
- discretion, sound judgement and the ability to probe a persons history, motivation and values in a non-judgemental manner
- proven experience in a human-contact investigative or information gathering and analysis role
- a valid and clean full New Zealand Drivers Licence and the ability to travel within New Zealand.
A tertiary qualification is desirable.A high level security clearance is required.
