MainPower New Zealand Limited owns and operates an electricity distribution network providing line services to more than 30,000 customers throughout the North Canterbury and Kaikoura Regions.
Rangiora, North Canterbury
Based in the Substations Workshop, this position involves the construction and installation of distribution substations, kiosks, link-boxes etc. You’ll also install, repair and maintain electrical equipment such as switchgear, circuit breakers and transformers along with the wiring of this equipment and some associated civil work.
You will have the following attributes:
a New Zealand electrical registration with a current practising licence
able to work safely in all conditions, with a sound knowledge of electricity supply industry safety requirements
focused on the delivery of a high standard of customer service
able to work to plans and instructions
highly motivated with good problem solving skills and initiative
a good communicator
a general knowledge of the electrical supply industry would be an advantage
a Class 1 drivers licence.
